Volunteer to Intern Abroad
Are you looking for a way to get
real experience in your chosen career?
Would you like to get that
experience in an environment that is either ideal to your learning experience or which intrigues you and offers a
bit of a vacation while you are away?

travel and gain experience in careers at the same time. It gives you an edge on resumes and teaches you how to

year or a small break from school or work.
How Long Are These
Internships?
This is determined by the work
visa you get for the country where you live and work.
While most internships last

What Do I Get From an
Internship?
Taking on an internship means that
you will have a chance to try your chosen career on for size and learn whether it’s one you will be able to
perform.
It also offers you a great deal of
real world experience with a career which might have begun to feel as if it was never going to be real or was a bit
hard to perceive.
It also means you will be able to
try living in another part of the world and have something of a vacation while you are working
there.
In many careers an ability to
adapt to new environments can be a key to being successful; this is a safe way to prove whether or not you can do
this.
What Do the Businesses Involved
Get From Interns?
There are many businesses that
aren’t able to get or pay for enough employees to achieve the goals they’re hoping to work on. By using volunteers
they can avoid these issues and still get the job done.
Do I Get
Paid? Are There Charges Involved?
Due to the nature of this
voluntary role you will not find many that will give you a paycheck you for your work.
Your internship is a volunteer
service that provides you with a form of experience that many don’t have the opportunity to take on.
Many companies can't cover
your costs for food, lodging, travel and medical insurance expenses while you’re abroad.
In many cases you will need to find a way to pay for
your international flight to get you there and back.
One answer to this is to find a local sponsor such as your hometown
church or Rotary Club to help raise funds and buy your airline ticket.
